Protect every entry point
Fit door and window contacts on the doors and accessible windows an intruder would actually use. These give the earliest warning, often before anyone is fully inside.
Cover key internal rooms
Place motion (PIR) detectors to catch movement through hallways, landings and the rooms holding your most valuable items. A few well-positioned detectors beat one in every room.
Add photo-verification detectors
Motion detectors with a built-in camera attach a snapshot to each activation. That confirms a genuine break-in, cuts false alarms and is what lets the ARC request a faster police response.

The things everyone asks about alarms
Will my dog or cat set it off?
No — we design for pets rather than hoping. Pet-tolerant detectors, sensible positioning and photo verification mean a genuine alert shows you a person, and the dog can keep its run of the house.
What if the power goes off?
The hub has battery backup that keeps the system armed and online through a power cut, and it tells you the moment mains fails and returns. Cutting the electricity doesn't disarm a modern alarm.
What if the burglar cuts the internet?
Monitored systems signal over more than one path — broadband and mobile — so cutting a cable doesn't silence them. Tampering and jamming are themselves detected and reported.
Do I have to have a monthly contract?
No. An app-only system with no monthly fee is yours to self-monitor. Monitoring with police response is an upgrade we'll price for you — most customers add it once they've seen how little it is.
Can you take over my existing alarm?
Usually, yes. We service and repair Texecom, Pyronix, Visonic, Honeywell, Yale and more, even where the original installer has vanished — and we'll tell you honestly when an old panel is worth replacing instead.
Is wireless really as good as wired?
For most homes and small commercial premises, yes — today's professional wireless meets the same EN 50131 standard, supervises its own radio links, and avoids the disruption of chasing cables through a finished house. Where wired genuinely suits a building better, we'll say so.
How disruptive is installation?
Wireless installation is about as gentle as trade work gets: no floorboards up, no channels in plaster, most homes finished within a day and cleaned up behind us.
What happens when it triggers while I'm abroad?
Your phone gets the alert and photos wherever you are, and with monitoring the ARC acts whether you answer or not — contacting keyholders and requesting police response on verified activations. The system doesn't need you awake to do its job.
What does servicing involve?
An annual visit: every detector walk-tested, batteries checked or changed, signalling tested end to end, and your certificate issued — the paperwork insurers and monitoring schemes expect. Service plan customers also get priority call-outs.
